Audio Dancing is a series of audio scores composed by dance artist Gaby Agis and recorded in green spaces in London.

Churchill Gardens, Bramwell Bird Habitat (30mins)
Pimlico, Central London, 20 April 2022
Gaby Agis accompanied by Cléo Tabakian, dance and visual artist living in Marseille and London.

This audio score was recorded in a small garden filled with birds on a housing estate near the River Thames in Westminster. It begins with an exploration of the sit bones and the pelvis from a sitting position, then moves into standing with a dance of the spine. The closely positioned spaces of the ribs and the skull come into play with an invitation to open the throat into sound. The session concludes with a flickering and quivering dance. There is then an invitation for participants to continue with moving, writing, drawing and exploring their creative practice.

Interview between Gaby Agis and Cléo Tabakian (30mins)
Cléo reflects on her participation in the score and on her experience of the imagery arising during the dance of the spine. She discusses use of imagery, rhythm and colour in her own creative practice and in teaching children.

Audio Dancing is an Independent Dance commission, produced by Gaby Agis in partnership with Independent Dance and supported through public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
