Where does imagery and imagination arise from? We will explore poetic imagery of the present moment using our senses as a tool to navigate. Opening possibilities of finding new layers and pressures of space and time.
Drawing from Rosalie’s own practice of improvisation, somatics and aikido we will journey through explorations, working on our own, with a partner and as part of a group. Through moving, listening and speaking we will practice our immediate experience of imagery, imagination, awakeness and presence. The class is open to anyone interested in movement and practice led work, some previous experience of movement is useful but not essential.
Rosalie Wahlfrid is a Swedish dance artist based in London. Her research is practice-based and explores philosophical questions about touching on and giving form to invisibilities through live performance and filmmaking. She works closely with visual artist Pablo Bronstein as a co-choreographer and performer. Rosalie is a former lecturer at The Place, Coventry, Surrey and Chichester University.
She has worked in the UK and internationally with artists such as Rosemary Butcher, Yvonne Rainer, Pablo Bronstein, Florence Peake, Joe Moran, Matthias Sperling, Cally Spooner and Gill Clarke. In 2016 she completed MA Creative Practice (Dist.) from Trinity Laban, ID and SDS, and was awarded a Gill Clark Bursary supported by the Leverhulme Trust.
