This class weaves experiential anatomy, traditional Chinese medicine’s elemental and seasonal principles, and embryology as a basis for reconnecting with your body-mind, meeting, and embracing your body’s vitality through contact/dialogue with the organs, movement and improvisation. This approach to the body, self, movement and moving comes from Satya’s ongoing healing journey of recovering vitality, soothing her nervous system, fostering wellness, and developing her own movement energy medicine for her body, mind and soul.
The offering in this class is the invitation to cultivate your own movement energy medicine for wellness, embodiment and creativity within the context of spring, the wood element and one of its associated organs, the liver, in solo within community. There will be some visual and experiential anatomical information shared to help sensitise yourself to the metaphorical content of the exploration and to track and be present with how this input of data ripples through your body. Doing so will support you to harvest whatever glimmers of sensations/ felt senses emerge within you and weave those into your own spontaneous movement score alongside the one offered by Satya.
There will be time to journal and maybe share with one another – please bring pen, paper / journal. Open to anyone who is curious and/or wants to reconnect deeply and profoundly with the body.
