Embracing an experimental and playful approach, this class invites participants to explore what unfolds when we observe the movements of our individual attentions. Through games, structures, and scores, we’ll investigate how we perceive, understand, and process information both within and around us, using these insights as tools for improvisational exploration.
Together, we’ll zoom in, out, and between perception, sensation, thought, and fantasy, navigating streams of consciousness, internal monologues, and spontaneous ramblings, while tuning our collective attention to move, play, and dance together in a supportive and responsive environment.
These practices stem from my research with improvisation as a space for exploration, expression, and performance. It’s a container where expansive and seemingly outlandish ideas can be realised through movement and play, fostering personal investigation and collective connection.
This class is open to all who are curious about moving together, exploring consciousness, and engaging with improvisation as a practice of performance.
Cancellations and refunds
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
