This class is an opportunity to play with others in a cyclical state of dancing and drawing, recycling information from one activity to another. You will explore how you can document a dance with pen and paper, and how that drawing might influence our bodies in movement. Working in the casual world of scribbles and doodles, this is a light-hearted attempt to record the spontaneous feelings, energies and characters that appear fleetingly in improvisation, and an exploration of the ways we can interpret one another’s drawings as stimulus for movement, sound and language.

You will spend time warming up your bodies, voices (and our drawing hands) using different exercises and scores to quieten our critical inner voice and connect with our imagination.

Open to all, no experience in dancing or drawing necessary.

Beginner dancers and “bad drawers” welcome!
