Monday Night Improvisation: Chevon Edwards

A warm mustard toned image of Chevon, a brown skin woman with afro hair moving: her arms raised in the air and expression is focussed and internal. She wears a shit sleeve white shirt and brown trousers.

Participants will explore movement as an instinctual and experiential process, inviting participants to reconnect with their bodies through sensation, awareness and choice. Rather than focusing on fixed choreography, the session centres on responding to internal and external cues, encouraging participants to notice what is happening in their bodies and allow that awareness to guide their movement.

Through a series of open tasks and guided explorations, you will play with pace, shifting between slow, attentive movement and more dynamic responses. Participants will be invited to experiment with how different sensations, impulses and environments influence the way they move and make decisions in the moment.

The session approaches movement as both functional and exploratory, offering a space to develop body awareness, curiosity and personal agency. It is designed as an accessible and supportive environment where participants can explore their own movement language, reconnect with their instincts, and practise responding to what they notice in real time.
