In this session Kimberley invites you to share space and be an explorer of the movement possibilities of your own body.
Without pressure or obligation but rather coming from a place of lightness and play, Kimberley will offer a series of provocations and tasks to inspire and generate movement. You will work with a variety of different stimuli as access points and ‘ways in’ to movement. These will include visual imagery, verbal description, sound/music and exploring real or imagined sensation. You will have the opportunity to experience different options and what they offer for you.
You are an expert in your own body, but can you allow yourself to be an explorer too?
With this knowledge, you will move with themes of connection and disconnection – with others, each other and the space we are in – all with a gentle curiosity to see what is possible.
Kimberley Harvey is a London based independent dance artist. She works as a performer, choreographer and facilitator in the UK and internationally.
Kimberley’s artistic practice has grown out of years of participating in and working with inclusive dance practice.
As a disabled dance artist, Kimberley has been working professionally for 15 years. She works for others in various capacities (including performing for Casson & Friends, Georgia Tegou, ThisEgg, Moxie Brawl); as well as having her own project-based dance company, Subtle Kraft Co. Subtle Kraft Co’s work centres around relationships in their various forms with connection, communication and gentle curiosity being at the heart of all they do.
In February 2026, Kimberley will co-curate Holland Dance Festival DanceAble Symposium alongside Irene van Zeeland. This will be their third time of co-curating the symposium together. She is also involved in Europe Beyond Access 2 as an ‘Expert Collaborator’ for Holland Dance Festival.
Independent Dance is resident at Siobhan Davies Studios. To find out more about accessibility and the amenities available within the building please see here.
If you have any questions about the accessibility of our programme and would like to discuss any specific access requirements, please feel free to reach out to us via email info@independentdance.co.uk or by phone on 0207 091 9665, to speak directly to a member of the Independent Dance team. During class, all participants are welcome to take breaks, observe, exit and enter the space as they wish. Lounge areas are available on the first and ground floors of the building. Yoga mats, blocks, cushions and ear defenders are available for use. We also welcome you being in contact if you would like to discuss the option of bringing your access support worker. Please speak to a member of the ID team if you require any assistance.
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
