Drawing from Rosalie’s own practice of improvisation, somatics and aikido, participants will journey through explorations, working on your own, with a partner and as part of a group. Through moving, listening and speaking, you will practice your immediate experience of imagery, imagination, awakeness and presence. Participants will explore poetic imagery of the present moment using their own senses as a tool to navigate, opening possibilities of finding new layers and pressures of space and time.  Asking questions such as – where does imagery and imagination arise from?

Aikido is a Japanese martial art. Rosalie specifically studies the methodology of Kashima No Tachi, where jujitsu techniques (body to body contact) and weapon practice are studied together. This practice has fundamental principles such as lower belly breathing and pressure, a soft body and unshakable spirit (ability to change one’s state). Rosalie practices Kashima No Tachi within the study of Budo (the way of the warrior) where focus lies on self development, self management and where philosophical subjects emerge from physical research.
