Ryan’s class will be an exploration and relation to the body through groove, exercises and tasks. Your body is the compass, and participants will be guided through the map of Ryan’s vocabulary, interests and artistic drives. The intention is for the body to feel both physical exhilaration and cerebral sentiments.
Ryan’s class will explore the dance of the body from internal and external stimuli, how we can tap into the internal rhythms and musicality of the body and how we can take external influences and make conscious decisions for our body. Ryan’s wants to give space to be curious about the stories given to the body in tandem with what the body has to say. The human body lives both with itself and with others constantly fluctuating between the two, Ryan endeavours to facilitate a space where bodies can dance and exploit this experience.
Ryan Munroe’s background comes from both dance and acting studies, which were undertaken separately and both experience live in his being as facilitator and performer. Facilitating before his studies at LCDS, then having many years of dance theatre experience Ryan now has deeper understanding, focus and compassion for the body that wants to explore a lived experience through dance. Ryan believes the body has its own story, that is made of all the other stories in the world, which has led him to work cross generationally, with beings from many backgrounds, both within professional dance settings to community settings. Ryan continues to be open and explorative about where dance can exist and with whom dance lives through.

Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable.
If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
