Morning Class : AD Kerton

Black and white photo shows AD, white AMAB, with shaved head wearing a light toned vest and black trousers. They stand on the right, seen from the knees up, against a dark theatre stage interior with eyes closed and arms horizontally outstretched, palms open and facing forward. They are at a 45 degree angle as the camera is tilted.

These classes offer an opportunity to experientially revisit the creative process that is human embryological development; with the aim of discovering how the energetic and spatial pathways of our becoming support our unique mature expressions of moving, making and being. Embodying embryology is a practice of feeling into space: the internal and external dynamic, fluid spaces that precede physical structures. It is also a process of expanding awareness through self-encounters with cellular consciousness and intelligence.

Classes are facilitated through guided somatic movement and self-sensing explorations; some anatomical information, gentle partner work, sharing experiences, and integration through playful, creative expression. Each morning orbits a different aspect of embryological development, so please drop-in, or if you like, attend the week to build a sense of a complete organism. The invitation is to be with your own emergent movement expression, meaning classes are appropriate for all curious movers and embodied researchers.

Please note that embryology content may be a sensitive subject dependent on lived experience. In mind of this, care will be taken in the delivery of this material and holding of the space. However, class is not presented as a process oriented therapeutic space.

Cancellations & refunds

Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidized by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
