You will explore the experiential and kinaesthetic, bringing awareness to the sensations, positions, orientations, and vast and subtle movements shaping our perception of internal and exterior worlds. Adam will offer and share some conceptual and image-guided prompts and scores. There will be some structured work in partners exchanging touch, solo and ensemble improvisations, witnessing and observing, sounds –maybe bliss, discomfort too. You will practice legitimating how we all find ourselves each day and cultivating the conditions for deep engagements with your own dynamically aligned dancing. Adam’s classes are influenced largely by how he was taught by Amy Voris and Lucia Walker, and his overlapping practice of contact improvisation, Body Mind Centring and Experiential Anatomy, and Alexander Technique, and yoga.
Adam Moore (he/him) creates installations, performance, and site-based works examining the fabric and spirit of life at local and global scales, translating the ephemeral and precarious substance of the world at large – from the London Docklands to the Caribbean and beyond – into forms and encounters across media. Using fine art and photography, visual art, and design paralleled to his transdisciplinary dance practice his projects draw on and reflect the experiential and kinaesthetic, bringing awareness to the sensations, positions, orientations, and vast and subtle movements shaping internal and exterior worlds. A Gill Clarke Bursary awardee and Leverhulme Performing Arts Scholar he graduated with an MFA in Dance Creative Practice from Laban and Independent Dance, Siobhan Davies Studios, in 2017. He’s taught BA Fine Art, Photography, and Commercial Photography at the University of East London since 2023, was the inaugural V&A East Artist Fellow (2023-24) and the inaugural V&A East Storehouse residency artist in 2025.
Independent Dance is resident at Siobhan Davies Studios. To find out more about accessibility and the amenities available within the building please see here.
If you have any questions about the accessibility of our programme and would like to discuss any specific access requirements, please feel free to reach out to us via email info@independentdance.co.uk or by phone on 0207 091 9650, to speak to a member of the Independent Dance team.
During class, all participants are welcome to take breaks, observe, exit and enter the space as they wish. Lounge areas are available on the first and ground floors of the building. Yoga mats, blocks, cushions and ear defenders are available for use. We also welcome you being in contact if you would like to discuss the option of bringing your access support worker. Please speak to a member of the ID team if you require any assistance.
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable.
If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
