Morning Class : Amy Voris

Informed by experiential anatomy and the improvisational qualities of Authentic Movement (or the mover-witness dyad), these sessions begin with open structures for moving which gradually overlap with gentle prompts for generating movement material.  In the latter part of the session, we will explore the process of returning to (self-selected) movement material as an invitation to grow and deepen the relationship with it.  The overall intention is to cultivate sensitivity to the emergence and quality of movement alongside an imaginative and atmospheric pleasure in solo-dancing. Time for reflection is embedded within the sessions and individualised responses are welcome throughout.

My approach to facilitating experiential anatomy has been profoundly influenced by the work of Linda Hartley, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Andrea Olsen, Caryn McHose, Satya Dunning, Miranda Tufnell, Natalie Garrett Brown and Fabiano Culora amongst many others.

These classes take place in the Research Studio at Siobhan Davies Studios and form part of the MA/MFA Creative Practice programme, which means that available public places are reduced.

Cancellations & refunds

Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidized by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
