Led by Candoco Dance Company dancers and Dan Daw, these classes offer the chance to experience a wide range of movement, inspired by the company’s ongoing learning about inclusive practice, the artists’ personal journeys, and the beginnings of the company’s discoveries in the first phase of creating a new work with Dan Daw Creative Projects. You can expect a spacious, supportive and enquiring environment which allows inner and outer awareness and brings attention to our noticing whilst exploring individual and collective scores.
The following dancers will be leading class this week*:
Monday Anna Seymour and Temitope Ajose
Tuesday Annie Edwards and James Olivo
Wednesday Dan Daw
Thursday Annie Edwards and James Olivo
Friday Anna Seymour and Temitope Ajose
*Please note that shifting capacities within the company means this may change.
Cancellations and refunds
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
Candoco is a leading professional dance company. We celebrate different ways of being and of making art, putting us at the forefront of conversations around dance and disability. We seek to expand perceptions of what dance can be and who can do it. Our current focus is to explore distinct temporalities, flatten hierarchies of knowledge and create spaces of belonging. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dan Daw Creative Projects to explore these and to center crip practice and crip aesthetics.
*crip is a term proudly reclaimed in disability arts, scholarship and disability justice movements. The term denotes an orientation towards the lived experience of disability and a celebration of the wisdom and practices that emerge from lived experience.
