During the week Eve will be offering movement practices that encourage a heightened sense of perception in the body, often working with time based ideas; slowing things down and ‘eeking’ things out. Interested in how movement can create atmospheres of suspense inside the body, and how suspense can be choreographed or constructed in between people and the room. Some of the class material will be linked to research from Eve’s current project Impact Driver.
Ideas will be introduced like tasks. We will explore things in relation to sound. Some of the tasks will involve touch and working in partners or groups, everything can be adapted or modified.
Cancellations and refunds
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
Eve Stainton is an artist and choreographer born in Manchester, living in London, UK. They create multi-disciplinary performance worlds that hold movement practices, welded steel, digital collage, and other invisible forces like waves, imagination and drama. Their research is rooted in community, interested in how differently marginalised people experience and come into relationship with power structures and the convention. Often working with codes, tropes and the absurd; staging clunky physical negotiations, or revealing ‘behind the scenes’ mechanisms of working together, as a way to question a moral idea of perfection and seamlessness.
