Heni is approaching this week of classes with the desire to hold spaces to listen into what’s already there and what is emerging, when we choose to be in a dancing space with others. How do patterns of holding on and letting go, the tensions, compressions, hierarchies, and permissions that we perceive or imagine, play out within our bodies as movement forms, and as relationships with others.
“As I age, I’m letting go of any agenda about what dancing looks like, but getting curious about how dancing could be applied to ways of thinking and being with others.”
Beginning again daily, Heni uses imagery, touch and sound stimuli to activate awakenings and differentiate layers of anatomical consciousness.
“That sounds like a lot but it’s actually just breathing and feeling.”
In reading the room Heni proposes compositions about ways we might stretch or compress ourselves, release energy, come into direct connection, following desire. She likes to oscillate between precision and abandon. There will also be time for tracking our experiences, writing, drawing, speaking and we might call this archiving.
Cancellations and refunds
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.

Heni was co- director of ID 2018 – 2023 and continues with the organisation as Lead Tutor of MA Creative Practice: Dance Professional, partnered with Trinity Laban.
