Marina’s artistic practice stems from seeing the body as a landscape/territory for inhabiting, imagining and discovering through noticing and moving. The interest in materiality, physicality and movement is evident in all her work. Her class begins with attending to specifics as a means to giving permission to open expansive, energised explorations as well as smaller quieter responses (and everything in between). The class will include both improvised and set material.
Her somatic practice is informed by a breadth of movement/somatic investigatory modalities where the material of the body as territory for thinking, navigating and decision-making, as well as by her work as a biodynamic craniosacral therapist (since 2010). Her rigorous engagement with the body and her approach to movement, gives rise to playfulness and, importantly, enjoyment in movement. She remains deeply curious about the possibilities for imagination to be activated through noticing both in quiet moments and through movement itself.
