Classes will be informed by the movement and material processes that underline Neve’s performance works, drawing on scores used in gallery work Satelliser: a dance for the gallery, stage work SOME TIMES and studio-theatre work Screensaver Series.
You will explore different ways that movement, patterning, texture, language and attention can be layered with lots of different options for doing more and less. Sessions will include methods of working compositionally with fabrics, string figures and drawing alongside group, solo and duo movement scores.
Neve Harrington (she/her) is an artist working with writing, dance, choreography, drawing, video, installation, costume and space design. She works mainly in gallery and non-stage spaces where her work prioritises explorations around conversation, access, play, agency, confrontation by times/scales beyond the human, neuroqueer experiences of information processing: mishearing, equational-images, listening, ways of tethering attention in movement. Her background is in visual arts, psychology and dance. As a performer she has worked within museum and gallery contexts across Europe.
Alongside her artistic practice Neve supports others with grants and writing as an access support worker, and has helped raised funds for projects across the art forms, education, accessible swimming, housing, architecture, disability and racial justice, participation practices, crafts and new technologies.
She is an artistic swimmer with Out To Swim, was a board member of Chisenhale Dance Space in London and involved with Engagement Arts Belgium anti sexism campaign 2017/18.
Independent Dance is resident at Siobhan Davies Studios. To find out more about accessibility and the amenities available within the building please see here.

During class, all participants are welcome to take breaks, observe, exit and enter the space as they wish. Lounge areas are available on the first and ground floors of the building. Yoga mats, blocks, cushions and ear defenders are available for use. We also welcome you being in contact if you would like to discuss the option of bringing your access support worker. Please speak to a member of the ID team if you require any assistance.
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
