This class explores the intelligence of our anatomical heritage; our movement ancestry. Through guided improvisation, anatomical exploration and specific movement motifs we will awaken the body’s structural intelligence, tuning into the connections held within our tissues.
We will work with specific anatomical principles each day, focusing on the spiral dynamics of the fascia, the elastic recoil of tendons, and the deep stability of the skeletal alignment to refine movement efficiency and expression. Whether you are seeking to refine technical awareness or explore embodied storytelling, this class balances deep inner sensing with expansive, dynamic content. Together, we will dance the bridge between past and present, grounding into the wisdom of the body’s evolving history.
This week of morning class forms part of the MA/MFA Creative Practice: Dance Professional Investigative Practice module, this year curated by Seke Chimutengwende. This means that there are a reduced number of public places available. If this class is sold out, please join the waiting list to be notified if a place becomes available.

Cancellations and refunds
Prices for classes are kept very low and are subsidised by ID in order to support artists to attend. To keep admin manageable for our small team, we don’t offer refunds if you cancel or can’t attend a class, and we can’t transfer your booking to a different class/event. We hope this is understandable. If a class is cancelled or changed by ID however, we do offer refunds/transfers to everyone who has booked.
